National and Malaysia Day Celebrations!
‘Malaysia Prihatin’ directly translates to Malaysia Cares, which is the appointed theme for this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. Malaysians have displayed a caring nature, along with firm determination and patience during COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this theme was selected to recognise the virtues amplified by Malaysians when facing the trials and tribulations during unprecedented times. Furthermore, the caring nature of the government was observed when prioritising the welfare of its people with its ‘Prihatin Initiative. This initiative is an economic stimulus package which will provide support to Malaysians during this difficult time.
Celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Rukun Negara began on 9 July 2020 at the Perdana Putra building in Putrajaya and will continue until 16 September 2020. Additionally, the National Month and Flying of the Jalur Gemilang took place on 28 July 2020 in Putrajaya.
Malaysia’s National Day will be celebrated on 31 August 2020 in Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia Day will be held on 16 September 2020 in Sibu, Sarawak.
