E-Wallet Incentive RM30 Infusion Begins in Malaysia
Eligible Malaysians Who Qualify Will Receive Free E-Wallet Infusion
The Malaysian government has introduced a new e-wallet incentive worth RM30 for eligible Malaysians. Eligible Malaysians who qualify for the incentive will receive the free E-Wallet infusion
This incentive is a one-off payment for Malaysians and is part of the government’s move to further encourage Malaysians to adopt cashless payments. The e-wallet operators who have partnered with the government are Touch’ n Go, GrabPay and Boost.
How to Apply RM30 E-Wallet
To apply for the e-cash, Malaysians simply need to submit an application to any of the three platforms. The operators will add their own incentives on top of the free RM30 given by the government. This means eligible Malaysians can expect to receive more than RM30. The e-Tunai Rakyat program is implemented by the Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
Approximately 15 million people in Malaysia will benefit from this initiative. The government hopes the measure can speed up the digitalisation process in the country. Therefore, the free RM30 given has to be spent between 15 January 2020 and 14 March 2020. The money that has not been spent will expire after 14 March.
