Tourism Tax in Malaysia
The ringgit depreciation has turned Malaysia into one of the cheapest tourism hotspots for foreign tourists, and that has prompted Malaysia to raise revenue from this sector with Tourism Tax. Aimed to provide a sustainable fund for the development of Malaysian’s tourism industry, the newly introduced tax will actually aid the economy of the country. Guests will pay the tax to operators of hotel (and premises) and that could add to the government’s revenue at the expense of hotel operators’ earnings.
On a final note, I am proud 3E Accounting has continued to develop in the face of the recent global economy. I would like to thank everyone interested in the continuing the development of 3E Accounting. I look forward to meeting you at the upcoming event: “Golden Age to Venture in Malaysia” and wish you every success during the next months.
Thank you.
